Advocates for Justice and Education empowers families, youth and the community to be effective advocates to ensure that children and youth, particularly those with disabilities and special health care needs, receive access to appropriate education and health services.

Advocates for Justice & Education seeks to expand programming to build the capacity of parents to engage in parent-led advocacy efforts to eliminate racial disparities and improve equitable access to health care for Black and Latinx children and youth with disabilities and special healthcare needs (CYSHCN) using a hybrid of the Parent Café and Community Café models in the District of Columbia in Wards 1, 7, & 8.

CSHE helps AJE accomplish their organization’s goals and impact their community by providing information and resources to expand their knowledge and build their skills. AJE particularly highlighted concepts and frameworks, like cultural translation, as tools to help inform their community work. Advocates for Justice and Education, Inc. sees CSHE as thought partners and conveners to connect them with others, including other funded partners, to further inform their focus and strategies.
