Make the Road CT (MRCT) is an intergenerational member-led community organization working to build power in immigrant, Latine, and working-class communities in Connecticut. MRCT does this through community organizing, legal and survival services, transformative education, and policy innovation. MRCT envisions communities where black, brown, immigrant, indigenous, and working-class people are treated with dignity and respect and have equitable access to housing, healthcare, education, and other systems and resources. They trust the power of organizing to build the new systems our community needs and to fight back against sexism, institutional racism, and all the other -isms that exist in our society.

Make the Road CT seeks to improve interpretation and translation services in healthcare settings; ensure that immigrant communities have information about emergency funding, healthcare options, and resources; and advocate for the inclusion of immigrant voices in community assessments and decision-making. They plan on running a member-led campaign, meet with local health providers to share their demands, and take the demands to the insurance companies to push for more resources and expanded care options.

For Make the Road CT, CSHE helps to facilitate spaces that engage community organizations across the country that are aligned on fighting for similar goals using similar power-building and organizing strategies. CSHE also provides support and frameworks to think about our work holistically and how their work is transforming society and themselves.
